Marex Consul with 75hp turbo Yanmar. 10 knots is comfortable. Ok for Solent cruising.? Expect to be thrown around a bit and will that engine have to work too hard? Has basic kit, VHF etc. Have Day Skipper.

Wouldn't be keen personally, seems underpowered for Solent but at the end of the day everything is weather dependent - the Solent can be mirror flat some days and it would be fine then. My worry would be some of the short chop and confused water you can get at places such as the entrance to Southampton water where I have seen my friends displacement mobo thrown around in a very uncomfortable way and it's a lot bigger than this one. I am sure others with more experience of this type of boat will have a view

Which Model looks like a 277, I have a 77 Holiday came from Portsmouth now in Newlyn no problem at sea 55hp Yanmar, 10 knots flat out light boat.
