Just returned from three day, two night cruise on Nutmeg. Several points now occur to me.

1: Spending three days aboard a 24' flush decked gaffer with sitting headroom with your 76 year old mum and a 45kg guide dog was, maybe, not a great decision on my part.
2: weather forecasts are not to be relied upon. Where did, met office, Xc, wind guru or the BBC mention F6 gusts on Saturday, nasty squalls Sunday PM or dead calms and persistent rain all day Monday!
3: But, on a plus note, a really big thank you to Marconi. Overnight mooring, shower, Bar, shower following morning, mud free dinghy landing and nice walking for Inca, all for... Nothing. I offered a donation but was refused.
I foolishly left a guide cane and other bits in the showers which have been safely put to one side (following a phone call). Brilliant!

PS anyone want to swap a Crabber for a Colvic Watson 26 before I run out of crew?

Steve

Yes I did enjoy it. Reread my post above and thought it sounded as if I hadn't. I reckon any time spent afloat is always worthwhile. Had a stroll around Osea to. What a fantastic place for kids (and old geographers), such a varied landscape woods, dunes and pasture with a bit of heathland too. Marvellous.

Just got to clean and tidy Nutmeg now. Left her in a right old state:(

Yeah Steve, you looked like you had had enough when we spoke on Monday.

Headroom is important for us less nimble folk.

I'll keep a look out for a good Centaur for you.

All right. I give up. Should never have sold the Westerly. Any bloke can fall in love and make a fool of himself!!!

Westerly Centaur it will have to be then.

With a spray hood like yours though. Looked very cozy!

You can have mine!

Swap for a flush decked gaffer?

Sorry, One of the reasons I bought the Centaur is for the headroom as I am over 6 ft!

Uncle Albert, Nothing much to report on the engine. I decided to have a top overhaul from an engineer who comes highly recommended but has a waiting list so I don't expect to have it done before next season. Still, it has given me time to get my head in the engine bay and clean, de-rust and paint. Should look good when it is eventually done!
