This week I received a great letter and several photos from a gentleman, whose name I was given on this forum, which showed my boat undergoing seatrials in 1962. My boat was built by Brooke Marine of Lowestoft and this kind chap took the trouble to find these details for me from old records that he managed to save when the company closed.
The chances of me finding out about this without this forum would have been very slim and as I bought the boat from the widow of the last owner a lot of the history would have been lost as the previous owner had it in his head rather than on paper.
Thanks again to all those people who helped me with this.

Good morning Ian,
Yes, I've still got Ellesay and I'm still rebuilding her. So far I've done all the starboard side hull and about half the port side hull. I've probably got another 18 months work at least to do on her.
This other one is a 45ft ex pilot boat that I came accross that needed a new forward deck, repairs to the wheelhouse and a new aft cabin. I was working blind rebuilding the aft cabin but when I got the photos from the kind gent mentioned above I found I had been lucky enough to get the proportions about right.Phew!!
How's your boat doing?

Good to hear Ellesay is still going. Many years ago when Bert Blackborough (sp?) had her there were signs the inner skin was in trouble in the engine room, I think portside but could be wrong. My own boat is winterised waiting for more money to be spent, but hopefully toys like a 913 Rutland rather than anything structural. Have you posted photos of you latest boat, if not any chance of seeing them?

regards
