Manually lift and tilt Mercury 115 ELPTO

Having a problem manually lifting up / tilting a mercury 115 ELPTO 2003 saltwater engine. The power lift is not working so I need to lift/ tilt the engine in order to trailer the boat to the mechanics. There is a button on the left side of the engine mount but no matter how much I try to turn it in the direction of the arrow imprinted on top of the button will it move. Someone said you have to press it in but then why the arrow showing the direction to turn it? Any help appreciate. Mark

Can't really help but giving this a bump. You could try on a fishing forum or rib forum, they use outboards more.

Isn't it more likely to be a screw somewhere around the trim/tilt unit to release the hydraulic pressure so you can lift the engine . It will be extremely heavy to lift as was a 90 2 stroke I had a similar problem with.
How about ringing the mechanic your taking the engine to and asking how you raise it ?
