For my age my Princess P43 manual bimini top on the flybridge is very heavy to open or close.
Any advice on retrofitting it to power control instead of manual by mounting some sort of aft market power system to raise and lower the bimini top ? Or a completely new set of powered top required ? Thanks.

I'd be looking at actuators from Linak:

...but without knowing what you're actually trying to power it's hard to say any more.

If money is a consideration, there is a large second-hand market in these. Used in the disabled patient business, they need to be replaced every five years even though they may be functioning satisfactorily. The leads are cut off short to disable them but that is easily rectified.

So he has, and he already had a product and installer recommended, before he posted the question here.

Maybe he considered the answer he got not to his liking as asked again here.

What do you think he should do.

I have used something similar (home made) lifting my engine cover steps as posted by pete but I would like to see some pics to see the arrangement of his bimini.

Thanks for the response. I missed the earlier reply to my thread at the motor boat forum, thus I thought to post it here.
