When we bought MD in 2007, she was fitted with a Garmin 60, this was a built-in fixed GPS, not the more recent Garmin GpsMap 60.
I replaced this with a Gps 152, but, being lazy, did not change the power/data lead. I just attached what was in place to the new GPS and it all worked.
I then gave the old GPS away on this forum, complete with the new lead because I thought I would not need it.

Fast foward to this weekend, and I was fault checking using the GPS 152 manual which helpfully shows the pinouts for the GPS 152 power data lead. However, the wires are different on my lead (well, they would be, wouldn't they!?)

A search of the Garmin website produced nothing of use.

Does anyone out there have a (circa 1995) Garmin 60 manual, or could point me int he direction of one?

Trying to recall from a long time ago. The OP referred to a Garmin 60 dating from 1995. This misled me. In fact, a Garmin model around that time, IIRC, was the GPS65, and a manual for that is on line. I had the hand-held GPS50 of that era.
I'm now wondering if the OP does have a 65. The 60 is certainly a much later product

Earlybird,
I found the manual OK, so thanks for that. However the wiring is quite different, sadly!

If the plug fits but the wiring is wrong you could cut the lead in the middle and rewire it. Test it using a choc-bloc then splice in a suitable inline plug and socket.
