Hi All

Does anyone have any idea how I bleed my Cooney passerelle manually, I re fitted it last week after buying the boat and we managed to get if going up and down and moving out away from the boat(its a corner mounted one that swings in and out and up and down it does not telescope in and out) but I could not get it to come back in again

I think it was a bit low on oil and after trying for a while I managed to burn out the capacitor :o so I have now fitted a new capacitor and I topped the hydraulic oil up but I don't want to try again electrically with the buttons as I don't want to burn it out again

It says in the manual that 1st time use I need to operate / bleed it manually with the pump that is on top of the power pack and the handle a bit like the manual bilge pump action. The only thing is how do I know if I am bleeding the up or down or left and right action of the paserrelle it does not tell me in the manual any more on how to do it

cheers shawn

Not really sure what you mean but it does have a tank underneath the power pack with 5-6 lts of oil in it

Ok check the tank is filled to its maximum indicated level with ATF ( hydraulic fluid)
Then disconnect one of the hydraulic lines from the ram and run the pump until fluid is spurting out. If no fluid comes then reverse the pump. Once you have a good flow, reconnect the line to the ram. Refill the tank.
Then start operating the PASSERELLE so that the pump is moving the fluid backward and forward forcing the air caught in the system into the tank.
If that doesn't work I suggest you contact any local specialist.

its a double acting ram so if you fully open and close it a few times it will bleed itself.Otherwise fully close it and pump the handpump whilst slackening the feed hose till oil comes out then re-tighten. Do same for fully open. Do not take take the hoses right off
