I am taking my "new" Jeanneau 42.2 from Palma to Malta around Oct/Nov. Any experiences of this trip at this time of year and also any good yards to overwinter before going on to |Ionian Spring 06 . Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

i spent 3 years there working on different boats and would highly recomend wintering there. try msida marina and also look at gozo if you want a change. the grand harbour has got a new marina built by the guy who used to own camper&nics but it is v. pricey and a bit out of the way.

Have a look at the Manoel Yacht yard in Sliema ,if you intend to keep the boat out of the water. Our boat was there when we bought it this year, and we stayed there for a week while we got it ready. Their prices are fairly reasonable, security is good and the guys in the yard are friendly and helpful. The place is a bit scruffy and could do with a tidy up ,but a lot of the rubbish is left by owners who do not clean up after themselves. It also has the advantage of being convenient for cafes and chandlers etc. When you put the boat back in the water, they have a small pontoon where you can stay for a few days. These are our own opinions, others might have different experiences of this yard.
