Jez, remind me, how much do you normally need to allow for fenders?

We don't really have that restriction at Scm, so the Antibes/CDor crowd might be more knowledgable.
I think it usually in the 0.1-0.2m range

Oi! It's a Sailrite I'll have you know I have loads of that white mesh privacy screen in stock from Boyriven or Kayospruce, but haven't got round to doing the actual sewing yet

All very nice. We have been berthed alongside, port side to, on the long empty berth across the water at right of the first pic above, when we have preferred a quiet berth. Only has 32Amp elec sockets so you need to make up a LBOK electricity adaptor (both lives in the same box are on the same phase). We have also been berthed where the Drettman in the second pic - you get 60 amps there if you are very lucky but generally the electricity and water in Cala D'Or are the worst in the modern world, though everything else there is very lovely indeed. The open tarmaced space at the right of the second pic is BCU's showroom yard these days and a route has been made for their boat transporter to get from there to the travelhoist. A couple of palm trees might have been sacrificed in that process

Thanks. If I ask the question another way, what's the maximum LOA and beam allowed for 11m x 4m and 12m x 4.3m berths? is there a rule of thumb for all Mallorca berths or does it vary by marina?

There is nil margin on width as others have said. If you go over your neighbour will complain and they will act.

Length. Cala dor bill you on the published length of the boat per the manufacturers web site ( not the boat docs !).

There is some discretion on length which again is based on if your neighbour complains. A longer boat can make it difficult for your neighbour if the fairway is narrow.

Most other places accept the length as stated in the boat docs. If part 1 this will be water line length which knocks off a few metres !

Actually in the main marina contract, you are supposed to allow 3% of the boats beam for fenders.
That probably answers Pete's question.

Nominal sizes at SC are:-
8m x 3.1m
10m x 3.62m
12m x 4.16m
15m x 4.7m
20m x 5.25m
30m x 7.5m
Nominal berth lengths can be exceeded by 10%
So a 20m berth will allow a 22m boat but you will have to allow 3% in the width for fenders.
Thats the rules in SC anyway.

The only problem with Alcudia is there is not that many coves to explore. Don't get me wrong its a lovely area and great Marina but will find Cala D'or better for exploring and 'days out' as there are so may coves for anchoring down the coast. Also there is Cabrera which is a stones throw away and stunning for the weekend. We are based at Porto Colom which is a wonderful place to be (28 years) and still not bored with the boating!

Regarding Cala D'Or, the marina tariff shows monthly cost, obviously varying by month. Can you stay for just a month or do you have to commit for a year?
