Hi - Can anyone residing in or recently visiting the Med - tell me the cost of diesel in Sant Carles de la Rapita, Spain? And/or also in Puerto Pollensa/Alcudia in Mallorca?

I hope to take my Targa 34 across from the new MDL marina in Sant Carles to a marina in Pollensa or Alcudia on 20 Sept 08, both marinas have confirmed they have space and I would like to know which one is the best.

Many thanks to anyone who can answer one or all of the above!

Fuel in Alcudia one month ago was €1.25 per litre but it may have dropped a little since then.

Are you moving to Mallorca permanently or just visiting?

you'll be interested in the threads running at the moment by Hurricane, who is on the way from Torquay to Sant Carles now, under the boats own steam

I just checked my fuel bill at the Club Nautic in Sant Carles last month. Unfortunately the litres are not stated, but the cost was 79€ and my tank only holds 70 litres, so I would guess about 1.30€ per litre.

I doubt whether the marina fuel is ready yet as there was no sign of that when we left there 4 weeks ago.

dont know the fuel prices, we are bertherd in pollenca. i would Defonately go for Peurto Pollenca, Peutro D'Alcudia is full of cheapy package holiday people, can also be rough to, it is also next to a coal deopt so boats get covered in a very fine dust and gets everywhere. and there is alot of commercial traffic in and out of the area. Pollenca has got a very nice outlook onto the mountains, food and the restaurants nearby the marina are fanatastic. nearby day trips are great formentor bay, cala murta, cala figuera and there is also chicken bay if the weather is rubbish. any other help pm me!

Just to say thanks to all those that replied to my post (any more info also welcome). Some useful info gleaned. Have been contributing to Fairline Forum for a couple of years, should have been here instead!

What a load of ill informed bollocks.

I can assure you that Port d'Alcudia is neither full of rough people or black boats. Commercial traffic? you make it sound Rotterdam. theres one or two ferries a day and probably a couple of freight ships per week.

Agree that Pollensa is fine but no better than Alcudiamar in my opinion.

Also the visitor berths in Alcudia are inside the marina and sheltered whereas in Pollensa they are on the outside wall of the marina and very open to the weather

Just got back home

Refueled in Sant Carles before we left - I like to leave her full.
We managed to do it by tanker at about £1 per litre.
Not the cheapest in Spain that we've experienced but quite good.
