Deleted User, what's your status - will you be able to get your boat released for your holiday?
 
jfm, I've taken advice and, unfortunately, it looks as if I'm going to have to roll over and put up a bond for the mat tax in order to get my boat released from precinto. So, yes, I fully intend to be in Cala d'Or for the evening of 13th July and at the meet on 14th July. I might not be able to afford a round of drinks though /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif. Blimey, that's heavy stuff. Hope the lawyers etc can win the day and release the boad. Could take time though, eek, I don't think legal things happen fast in Spain

Yep, see you 14th (or 13th. We'll be on a Cala D'Or berth night of 13th, or on anchor by TCM if calm). Looking forward
 
Things happen quite fast when they want to mug you for cash. After the bond is placed, I've got 2 months to decide whether to accept that I have to pay the tax, in which case I will have to pay over the fine (minimum 50%) and interest (3 yrs in my case) as well as lose the bond. If I decide to fight my case, then my boat will be placed under full precinto and chained up until the case is brought before a tribunal which could take up to 2 yrs. I think you can probably guess what I intend to do before the 2 months is up
