Did anyone on here get involved in this event?
A great sight to see so many traditional craft together. So many tons of wood, iron and canvas being handled with great skill, [at least, I didn't hear much splintering]
Many thanks to the organisers, a great day out.

We took our sailing dinghy out to watch the Parade of Sail from the water. It was a lovely spectacle. The sailors said that there was a decent wind for the racing, and good sunny weather for the events - the prom was packed. The gig race didn't happen, but apart from that it all looked great.

Yes a truly superb event, we watched the start of the second race from a anchorage abeam Osea - LOADS of Gaffers, smacks & Classic yachts ! Only spoil ( in my opinion) was the awful & loud booming bass music coming from Osea, whilst sailing back we could still hear it abeam Bradwell. Blackwater residents must get fed up?

That was music, was it? I thought it was the noise you hear from youth's cars. That old favourite tune, THUD THUD THUD.
I would also like to thank the launch man at West Mersea who put in extra hours on Friday night, saturday morning and evening.
much appreciated cheerful service
