Just had a couple of lovely days on the boat. It's now ready to go to sea ?
Why do people think it's ok to run up and down the river, not fast, but fast enough to cause maximum wash? One or two were on the plane, no wash, but silly.
When I got back to the slip in my dinghy three chaps were trying to launch an old mobo off a trailer, obviously their first attempt ever, they had about six mtrs of rope attached to the trailer, no other ropes on the boat. Most entertaining, but they will learn. This was this afternoon, an hour or two after HW so it will be interesting to see the retrieval approaching LW.
Bought a bottle of Pepsi on the way home as I was thirsty, now enjoying a Rum & Pepsi or two ?

Jet skis running through South Deep this evening. Never seen that before - quiet areas have normally been respected.

The Gosport Ferry were on the VHF this afternoon - apparently people (including children) were jumping off the Portsmouth pontoon into their 'prop wash'

We tied up to the Quay for fish and chips on Thursday evening and boats were going past us on the plane. We then moved out to Pottery Pier and had jet skis passing at high speed but it quietened down after 22.00....

Indeed I was in Jennycliff Bay, Plymouth and was entertained by teenagers on Wet Bikes going round in circles for four hours till 21hrs.

In a new horror, which people elsewhere may be accustomed to, these characters were brought by people in sailing boats, in particular, one a Bavaria 32 but two others as well.................... Look the kids are having great fun, now ones fallen off, what a laugh, the parents lugging back drinks and playing loud music.

Judging from what I saw on the Hamble last week, a lot of young people enjoying being on the water for the first time - on paddle-boards and inflatable kayaks etc, but some will have seen sailing dinghies about as well as yachts under sail and might take a future interest...?

As to the larking about, in amongst the quiet sitting on empty mid-river pontoons and fishing, and ignoring the odd idiot doing something fast on a rib or jetski, I'm happy that people have been able to enjoy the water and hot weather after the long lockdown.

As to my own little ship, rigging and sails now all back on, engine serviced, decks cleaned, etc - ready to go cruising next month! :)
