Apparently the twohappiestdays in a yachtsman’s life are the day he buys a boat and the day he sells it.I understand that fully having owned about Seven boats so as I am approaching my sell by date my choice of a boat is important, there’s no real rush and it gets us out the house looking at prospective candidates

Actually that’s two of many, many ( if you own a boat and get pleasure from it )

No chance of buyer remorse atm?

Yes I have been away from sailing and taking the leap into buying a boat and it’s attendant responsibilities and costs all have to be weighed especially for the older generation?

Wansworth is finding out, albeit very slowly, that no boat is worthy of him. ;)

On the other hand, he keeps us entertained here. I wonder if our new acquaintance O'Molehill will likewise provide us with the vicarious pleasure of enthusing about or casting aspersions on his/her latest find.
I’m watching you?

In this recent quest for a boat in Galicia once on board I scan round the deck before getting into the cockpit tweaking stanchions and fittings whilst the owner opens up the cabin. The first question is does the engine work and please can you give us a demo.Havinga good look at engine installation and location of stuff.Ask about access to fuel tank.Once in the cabin check berth lengths and general condition.Get the flooring up to check keel bolt heads if there aere any.On deck a perusal of furling gear and sails the parts that can be seen.Whilst getting about the deck see howI can manage with narrow side decks.
