Make sure you check your VHF wiring!

The wiring for our VHF was pretty old, and I've been sprucing up the electrics on the boat, so decided to run a new stretch of cable between the base of the mast and the VHF.
Glad I did, as when I pulled the old cable out of the compression post I found it was only barely attached. There was a spot on the cable where the insulation had been worn off and the outer sheath was only just connected and in bad shape.

I'm amazed it worked at all!
