The yacht broker who sold me the S23 arranged for me to have engine serviced at bridge marine in cookham.

So I set off yesterday afternoon and overnighted in Marlow so I'm close by. Arrived bright and breezy only to be met by blank faces :nonchalance:

I was supposed to be at Bridge marine in Walton :disgust:

Only 6 hours the wrong way!! So today I've trundled from Marlow and I'm now moored up outside thames court in sheperton ready for the service in the morning.

I'm knackered :nonchalance:

Any excuse to use the boat :)

At least you got to enjoy the Cliveden reach(twice):D

I remember Bridge Marine in Walton being excellent, I'm sure you're in good hands:encouragement:

I love Cliveden reach. Such a stunning stretch. I like to moor up on one of the islands and do a BBQ. Good to hear about Bridge Marine. I'll be there at 9am with engine nicely warmed up :encouragement:

Yes that inland stuff i flat water must be nerve wracking indeed :)

Many a true word...

Having sailed UK-Med-Atlantic-S. America-Caribb we've spent the last two summerson the USA's east coast and our most common conversation with the locals has been:
Where ya from? England
Didja sail across the ocean? Yes.
Wow! That musta been hard/dangerous/scary? No.
But you must've been in some scary places, where was the worst ? Well, OK, I guess the Intra Coastal Waterway.

Most could never be convinced, but for us at least it's true; there's not enough water, too many hard bits and enough idiots to make an August Bank Holiday Monday in the Solent appear sane.
