I assume it is best to use along with regular boat fenders as they are only 7cm deep.

I've got 4 of the large 3/4 bumpers on my pontoon … 2 alongside and 2 on the end for when I come in stern first … don't use fenders at all on the home berth. I do tie the boat up so that she doesn't rub against these fenders all the time.

dock fenders are for when you dock and undock dont use only fenders fixed to the pontoon. You need sausage or ball fenders hanging off the boat they roll with the bopats movement while moored.

I have seen a boat that used tight mooring lines and only pontoon fenders and it wore through the gel coat.
