On our boat is a 3yo Induramar desalinator.
The unit has always’s been working good (not used a lot) only 75hrs on the clock iirc

Last year maintenance was done in Rome by the local dealer,
And this year I wanted to have this done by a local dealer here in SOF.

After contacting him on the phone, and sending some pictures of the unit he claims that I have to take out and bring it to his workshop so that he can make a correct estimate, and do a professional maintenance.

He’s only 20km from where the boat is, so it should be possible to do the service in the boat.
so I’m afraid that this is going to be another rip off,

So reading in the manual it can’t be too difficult to do a “cleaning / regenerating “ procedure myself.
I have a set of spare filters cartridges,

But I will need some chemicals:
In the manual its called a product for "descaling the membranes"
or a "CTR" ???

On the asap supplies site they mention two products:
- A biological cleaner , to remove oil, algea and bacteria
and
- A acidic cleaner to remove scale of membrane surface.

What products do other mates use for this ? where to buy ?
Any other advice on desalinator maintenance?

Thanks for input and advice !
