I am currently in the middle of developing a software project for my own use but was wondering if it would be of any use to other people.
The software would allow you to track your maintenance, track spending, produce budgets, and schedule maintenance as well as other features
it would also include analytic graphs so that the data is easy to read.

How are you tracking maintenance right now and would you be interested in potentially trying out this software?

If I was responsible for maintenance of a ship, with lots of complex equipment, multiple people doing the work, crew changing over time, and a budget to forecast and report to head office, I would probably find something like this very useful.

For maintenance of one fairly simple yacht, by myself, with no great desire to tot up what it costs, it’s overkill that adds no value.

There are already several such apps. The name that springs to mind is Yachtworx (that is the correct spelling). Search on FakeAche and you will find it.
Edit: their website is www.yachtworxpms.com

More than 40 years ago I discovered that I have a boat-cost gene which disables logic. If something goes wrong on the car or around the house and it costs me £50, it's "s0dding car/house just cost me fifty s0dding quid".

If I'm clutching this lovely thing in the chandlery and it's £500, "That's ok, it's for the boat isn't it? It'll be lovely to have and add to the value" (not).

I think most people who would want to do this would probably just use MS Excel...

That’s what I use as a useful aide memoirs / checklist - and also record when last done and due as can never remember. Held on Dropbox, and therefore accessible at boat or at home from any device. Perfect for the job.
Certainly don’t keep costs in this as both waste of time and frightening.
