Mainsheet Traveller Lines

I am just fitting a new Lewmar main sheet traveller but am not sure if it is better to have one continuous line or a separate line port and starboard. I suspect it might be easier with separate lines. I have spliced one end but would appreciate comments, from anyone who has done this, before cutting and splicing the other end.

I have separate lines but sailed a similar boat with continuous and found that easier as you already have hold of the right rope once you have released from the cam cleat.
