I recently ordered a Gill jacket from them (with some trepidation, knowing problems others (and I) have had in the past.

Anyway, long story short, it turned-up on time and was exactly as ordered. All good.

I then wanted a few more bits last week (Sterling Pro Pulse and some anodes). Mailspeed were the cheapest, so I though "was last time beginners luck or not", so I thought I'd throw caution to the wind and give them another go.

Amazing! It all turned-up 2 days later and was as ordered.

So it looks like they have got things sorted out there now, which is great news. Just thought I'd share my experience with you all, especially because of all the bad press they got in the past.

I wasn't aware Mailspeed Marine had gained a bad reputation, I've always found them reliable.
Now, Marine Megastore and its myriad operating names, that's another thing.

You know what? You're right. It was Marine Megastore that were the problem lot. Don't know why I thought it was Mailspeed.

Anyway, happy to report that they are a good, reliable supplier.

I bought a mounting bracket for a Clipper Navtex from MS a few weeks ago. The price was the lowest I could find and when I drove down to collect it I got a friendly reception and a guided tour of the warehouse. I would be happy to buy from MailSpeed again.

I recently placed a large order with Mailspeed marine, including a mainsheet traveller. When the parcel turned up every item was either missing, damaged beyond use, or something completely different compared to the listed description. For instance I ordered 5 'harken double bullet blocks' from the blocks category, and recieved 5 packs of old shop soiled electrical connectors.

Refund process was a nightmare, no apology or helpfulness.

I have purchased a few thing recently with Marine Megastore, great prices quick delivery no problems. On the other hand Force 4 have different prices on the web site than that of their 2017 catalogue, catalogue shows cheaper price Force 4 say it's brexit that has caused the increase. Do I believe that Hmmm

It's a minefield of names! I had an absolutely brilliant exchange with marine *super* store- ordered a VHF which unfortunately fogged on first use, so I called up and was not only offered a replacement but they were happy to post the replacement out immediately, to reach me before the weekend's sailing, on the condition that I posted the faulty one back in the same box. Easy, and all resolved with a phone call. I started off convinced that F4 were the way to go but after asking them to price match some electronics and getting short shrift (not that they are obligated to do so, but it would have secured my custom then and in the future), I am a marine super store convert!

I experienced similar customer service last week on what was a decent order but for the sake of a few pounds difference they couldn’t or wouldn’t price match and so the business went to marine super store. F4 must clearly not need the business question is how do you pay the wage bill?
