Maidstone River Festival 2011. UPDATE with pix.
Stuff going on all day Saturday 2 x sound stages with local bands and an excellent
"grudge match" raft race.
Fire works around 10.30 plus according to rumour "FREE" Tidal lock entry via Allington on the day.
Just a few pix of the weekend and a obvious drop in the number of attendees,both boats and visitors.However weather was 100% and the fireworks as ever were great.
The lock was nearly as busy as a bank hols Sunday on the Thames(But without all the bad tempered pushing and shoving
)
A thank you to all the lock staff who kept a sense of humour despite many boaters displaying several levels of boatmanship on entering (and leaving) the the lock.
Delays in locking out meant the tide was two high for some of us to get under the bridge.
Only downside ...What is it about you people with "£$%&" generators,Honda or Kipor they are pain...turn the things OFF when not needed.
Several boats had the things running all the time and several crews had b***red off leaving them running. Grrrr........
