I use an old Magellan Meridian GPS as a back up. It now will not switch on fully. It may switch on for a moment then the display collapses. As it has been so reliable I am loathe to give up on it yet. There are two internal circuit boards, easy to replace if you know which one and if available. Anyone with any expereience of these units out there?

I used the XL for many years, and thought it was good. My current boat has the fixed version (1200)? But I would say that when it starts playing up, it's time has come.
If you can't source another for spares, it will be cheaper to buy new than to repair. Hand helds are now so much better and comparatively cheap.
