Well that's my three best Portugese words. :)

Weather willing..looks light......heading off tomorrow from Rubicon, Lanzarote. Consultant role. A friend is taking his yacht trnsatlantic later in the year and wants to get some miles and night hours in the logbook for his partner. Four of us total for this trip so easy watchkeeping. Hanse 46 or something close.

They have sailed a good bit locally and last Sunday took the other crew out for familiarisation sail, bit of reefing, etc. The fully battened main is flipping heavy and needs care with the electric halyard winch.

Post sail, we had a jolly passage planning session in a Marina bar. WiFi plus tablet works wonders.

Spent more time on paperwork though one can pre trip upload vax certs etc to Madierasafe. Confirmed all done this morning. Will have to do flow tests before leaving here but the trip may take a bit over 48 hours. Tad under 300 miles. But will worry about that when we ger there.

Not expecting much breeze, but we got diesel! Should blow the cobwebs out tho.

When Christiano Ronaldo first moved to the mainland as a young up and coming talent, I understand he was tormented about his Madiera accent, country boy. Bet they are not laughing now!

Interesting start.

All at clinic for flow test 0900. Great no problem.

Down boat, coffee and slip 1030. Engine dies. Drift onto reception, no problem. Find blower fuse holder broken. Replace. Engine good so slip.

Get 2 miles, Engine quits again so sail back towards marina. Get Engine going so back on reception. Boatyard manager comes round and we go all through cabling ....
Volvo. Find its the Engine control panel in cockpit. Yard manager goes to his own boat and gets his , fits it to us. Yay.

So will benoff again soon, having lunch and waiting for a shower to pass.

Fingers crossed!!!

Just after landfall half an hour ago we caught an albacore....or something similar!

Pleasant trip rain cleared quickly. Had to.motor first night plus last few hours but generally very pleasant trip.

Should be alongside 1600 ish.

In the marina about half way along. Landward side. (y)

Also very impressed with the cable car but viz wasn't great. And of course, the Ronaldo museum!
Thanks, it must be one of the few places we haven’t walked in 16 years of visits. The Autonomia statue is worth a look, we always referred to it as the “Naked lady” I would post a photo, but I might get banned. ?
