MacGregor 26X and Autohelm ST3000

Has anyone with a MacGregor 26X installed a ST3000 autohelm? If so, did it work well? Comments? Suggestions?
Also, will the Sealtalk Nav Center function with the ST3000?

I have fitted A Navico WP4000 on my Mac 26X it took a bit of time lining up the drive belt but works fine on short single handed passages, I have never used it for hours on end. but for less than £100 on e-bay it does all I ask / need of it.

An ST3000 is a very old bit of kit and has not been made for several years. Spares (apart from belts) are difficult. If it has the original control head, do not think it interfaces with Seatalk - but you should check with Raymarine. It is a good bit of kit if used gently - your boat will not put much load on it using the rudder, but I would be wary of using it to turn the outboard. The separate motor and belt drive can cause problems in the layout of the cockpit. Think you might be better looking at the latest SP type for small powerboats.
