Dotting about the Solent on Sunday at the helm of a manky auld boat, I was pleased to see an acquaintance on an AWB that I had a long friendly chat with the previous day whilst helming my AWB. I hailed him loudly and waved cheerfully but was disappointed to be completely ignored .. is this snobbery converse, inverse or perverse?

I am getting a bit fed up of the silent "blanking", the internecine politicking and the stuffy silences. So, in the interests of open relations, when a sailing boat came past in the river medina last nite i okayed the kids to drench him with large water pistols for no reason whatsoever. Unfortunately, he went bonkers and tried to fling a bucket of water at us, by which time they had reloaded, and drenched him again so he went even more mental. I think this is the same sort of thing that jimi is talking about, sort of, and is very poor form.

I had a similar experience earlier in the year with somebody on an AWB identical to yours. Sent him a PM on here, and he couldn't remember seeing us, but in fairness he wouldn't have known our boat. A slaphead if you know who I mean. Wasn't the same person you saw, was it?

PS How's the german beer?

... due to the deep and seaworthy cockpit on such an MAB he wouldn't have been able to see much of your lower anatonomy ... although i can't think why that should make a difference but seemed a perfectly valid point to make and illustrates the totally different sailing experience which you enjoyed ...

its the hat? you might have been in earnest discussion beforehand wearing the deid sheep and, sadly, with a wind strength of F5 (admittedly uncalibrated stuff from raymarine so might have been anything) the wearing of any hat became impossible and he failed to recognise you ....
