M Tech SX-35 vhf - changing MMMSI number

I understood once you enter a MMSi number into a radio its there for good, I may be wrong but in most radios thats the case

I understand it is more that you have to return it to the dealer to get it changed, it is not burned in forever.
It may depend on the make though.

I have seen posts on here before saying that the number, once entered, can only be changed by sending it back to the manufacturer to have it changed.

As has been said, normally an authorised agent job. However, if you have bought a boat and it radio when you apply for a new boat license you will keep the old call sign and MMSI number so it is not neccessary to change the number in the set.
