if you include TCM, you had probably better also include tons/hour

and another useful one would be breakdowns/month. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

u a raggie...wot u doin ere in our mobomess?
3 litres/hour....wot you got a two stroke lawnmower engine? Blimey you'll be quoting hours per litre next../forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

REAL mobos dont pay too much attention to consumption....its lots and they dont want to depress themselves working out how much that quick lunch on the IOW really cost.

close, wasn't I ? /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

I actually do have a mobo on the Thames but I dont know the consumshun in metric or wotever. I do know i filled the tank back in May and Ive been out every weekend plus a 16 day and a 9 day trip and its still two thirds full !

'spose that sort of means i could quote less than 10 gallons a month or one and a half litres a day........

Litres/hr or gallons/hr is a meaningless figure for boats in the same way as its a meaningless figure for cars unless its related to distance. Nautical miles per gallon/litre is the only true measure of fuel efficiency

7.5 wots?
1.5 wots?

How do you get to 40 gal per hour. It depends how fast the vessel is?

If the Mobo is displacement, it might be best off at 4 or 5 knots. If it's a planing, might have max efficiency at 20, 25, 30 knots etc.

Mine does approx 1 litre per mile at 30 knots. 4 hours to Salcombe from Solent at this speed. Most bigger boats would cruise slower, so take more hours there at higher consumption. Ask the right questions, get the right answers??

About 0.7mpg, and an additional 0.6 ish gph for the generator.

That's nautical miles per imperial gallon, and at say 23-25 knots cruise/1700rpm. Flat out 2350rpm 33ish knots would be loads more I suspect

no idea matey poops. I make sure swmbo pays the fuel bills. The fuel computer thingy is reassuringly busted, or perhaps it need sorting out, but i haven't tried it.

240 litres an hour at cruising speed (20 knots)

Shocking as that seems I don't care as I don't pay for it!!!)

The SY next to me burns 320 at cruise which is 11 knots

(although she is 170ft and I am only 70ft)

I average about 40 ltrs an hour per tank of fuel. This includes 3/4 of an hour each way at 8 knots or below per journey going in and out of Chichester harbour.

Or, about £100 of fuel to 14 hours underway.
