Cant understand this need to take boats out of water every year. Folk whinge about the crap summer then promptly stick there boats on dry land the minute September is passed. Just had a glorious two weeks cruising down to Fowey and Falmouth, got layed low ther for a while with some dreaded lurgy!! A day trip up the Tamar with Long John Underpants and a menagery of three dogs had M Farter fealing more like Noahs Ark. If they had leads instead of bits of string, it might have helped the ambiance of the situation, but not alot!! Anyway we got all the way up to Calstock and a couple of beers before returning to Plymouth in the dark. Deb arived back from her London trip a bit late on Friday, but still in time for a late afternoon cruise to Salcolmbe and it did not cost a penny!! It's amaising how cheap things are at this time of the year. Stopped off in Hope Cove for a couple of beers. Sunshine, flat seas. Bit worried about the Jet ski that insisted in following us half way to Salcolmbe before turning back into a good 4/5!! did wonder whether to tell the C/guards that he was out, gone a good five miles out. Cant think that he had a spare set of filters and spanners on that thing. Short pants as well!! The Borringdon Arms was as good as ever.

Biggest difference was. Since MF got antifouled in June instead of the usual Jan / feb. It's 24 knots on the clock any day instead of the usual 16/17 by September. The Newyears eve cruise is already booked in. Oh and back to an earlier thread. Where we been this year. Well not far for us. Helford river at one end. Portsmouth the other. Not forgetting Guernsey and Alderney. Having said that, cant remember how many time we have been down to Falmouth this year, it's only 40 miles after all!!

Was not that cold, much better than alot of summer days, nice trips to the beaches and pubs. Developed a new tecnecue for the dighy, a bit pissed off with carrying it up the beach. Line to dinghy of about 8ft then anchor, then trip line and thirty foot rope and another anchor. Course it depends on tides as how you use it. But saves all that dragging up beach and then back down again!

Come on tell the truth! You have a piece of string attached to the dinghy long enuf to stretch to the pub. Then when you get pissed you just have to follow it back and hey presto, there's the transport home!

Exactly, we had lovely weather Friday and Saturday and was perfect for going out. Was messing around Chichester Gosport and i the Solent and lovely it was too. Made a change from being in Guernsey.
