Lymington Town Quay

Is that a bad thing?? Honest question .. no idea if it is, or isn't - but it is the end of October, and mine's out??

I can see the point of the qustion, as the town quay is a public facility - I once bought a boat from Berthons in winter time and was glad to have the facility - no reason we couldn't have rafted out though, I'm not one of the " we're leaving at dawn " or tender alongside miserable gits...

But how does it get used for laid up boats and what charges apply, it was around £15 a night for us ... good chums of the harbourmaster ?

Definitely the town quay, 3 rafts of boats mostly without sails on, etc.

We saw one boat have to turn round as there wasn't any suitable space left.

They are dredging one of the pontoons and a large number of tro moorings this winter. They are having to find alternative moorings for those people that are staying in over the winter. The Town Quay should still be for visitors only.

Quite a common situation in mid summer too to be fair.

There is a proposal to change the Town Quay with the provision of a lot more walk ashore pontoon berths which should improve the overcrowding in the summer. If you look at the harbour website under News you can view the plans

Yes. Long discussion of those plans back in the summer. See: here
