Our holiday plans (if we ever get away) will include a visit to Lymington and then Poole on our way westwards. On every (three times) previous occasion that we have gone from the Solent to Poole, we have gone past the Needles towards the Fairway buoy and then directly across to Poole. Can those in the know tell us if this is the preferred option, or is it quicker cuuting through the North Channel from around the NE Shingles Cardinal to the North Head buoy and then directly from there?
