Was motoring down the river at Lymington this morning, at 11am, expecting to find a flood tide (2 hrs after LW Lymington) - instead found the current was definately heading downstream.

What's the reason? The only thing I can think off is rainwater runoff.

We have had quite a bit of rain lately. We haven't had a flood tide through the run at Christchurch since Christmas! My drying mooring has had at least 2' of water at low - bring on global warming and we can have it like this in the summer!
