Lymington inconsiderate boater

This was a portable generator running on deck hence the disturbance. Incidentally it started up again at 9am this morning! The Harbour Master got quite excited about a drone flying overhead, he said they were becoming a real nuisance and they were looking for a way to ban them.

Rather than giving yourself a "stroke" wouldn't it have been easier to have just moved ??

If the offender knew they would need to run the generator for long periods of time, common courtesy should have been applied and they should have moored well away from other boats. And irrelevant of 'mandated' engine shut off times they should have shut it down sooner then 22:00 if close to other boats so everyone has an opportunity to relax. The external generators are very noisy and do not have the benefit of muffled exhausts.

Yea but they didn't show any courtesy ......no point in staying because some ignorant boater ,although probably not breaking any bylaw, ran a genny which was annoying to you . Music to some ears but a racket to others I guess.

If the generator had been a V8, I wouldn't have minded too much, until it was bedtime, when ideally it would have gently faded in volume and sent me to sleep.

Just for the record because lots of you know I have a Solent based Aquastar 33. IT WERN'T ME! I have a Fisher Panda genny with underwater exhaust, and anyway I have been if France...... Bet I know who it was though. Why didn't you complain to him directly though rather than telling us? You won't solve the problem by complaining afterwards, you will only increase your already obviously high stress levels. Either man up and tell him to shut up or put up with it.

:encouragement:

The op never said it was running at 22 00hours 9 am yes for me that is a fair time ,not everyone can afford to have a a proper genie fitted it's like a view if you own the land you are looking at the you are in control ,if you want secluded boating move to Scotland
