Anyone know why there are so many large ships milling around in Lyme Bay today, looking on ship finder seems to be more than normal and they aren’t cruise ships ?

At night, they all sparkle.
SWMBO counted 22 last night including a Saga Cruise Liner.
Only 19 tonight.
Off the Torquay/Teignmouth coast.

We can see half a dozen big ships from Chesil Beach. Normally only one and a couple of fishing boats.

I think it is a mix of shelter and awaiting orders. I remember back in 2008/9 seeing >13 tankers waiting for best prices for oil. The Saga ship is now off Brest, so probably didn't want the crumblies aboard to experience the F9 west of The Lizard.
