According to the latest pamphlet Lydl are offering tow handy gismos for yachtpersons.One a battery operated weather station which looks super cool and a hand held battery operated sewing machine which will save a mountain of work if your mainsail splits off the cape of GoodHope or elsewhere.

I've had one of their weather stations for years, but the outside thermometer's just started giving some rather optimistic readings, so I was thinking it was time to replace it. I'll check it out, thanks.

The weather stations can be good but I suspect that the sewing machine would struggle with anything more than a light weight sheet or shirt.
Yo could buy the sewing machine and try it out anchored just off the marina ......

I was after a weather station, old one packed up a few months ago. Can't find them on the app down in Portugal. Maybe Spain only?

We don't have Lidll - because:

We don't need weather stations its either glorious or occasionally grotty. We can cope with the odd occasion - their choice of specials is poor. Now... if they sold cheap, effective sunscreen well.......

These Frey bentos things are oft mentioned - they must be really good...? They get as much mention as a Rocna anchor.

These Frey bentos things are oft mentioned - they must be really good...? They get as much mention as a Rocna anchor.

I believe the two are interchangeable but one requires more heat to make it easier to chew

They do - it just creates less excitement than bargain sou’westers!
