We seem to be settling into a state of lethargy where the same old posters go over the same old ground.
In the background there always appears to be a few "guests" quietly watching whats going on and perhaps wanting to chip in but reluctant to do so
Perhaps thinking that we are some sort of tight knit old boys club only interested in our own views.
Most folks on here most certainly did not know each other before MBM created this forum and many only know each other from this forum.
Feel sure there are a few out there who would like to comment,so sign up and pile in.
Our only thing in common is a love of boating and the general feeling that Thames boaters all live in La La land. :):):)
Some of us are actually normal human beans.
Log on.Its dead easy and will not cost you a penny.OG.

I know several Lurkers and have asked why they never contribute. I've yet to receive a satisfactory answer yet I am certain these folk have a wealth to add.

It's the way with forums though; I don't contribute a lot, but have noticed when I do my comment doesn't get responded to yet a regular contributor puts the smallest comment & it invokes 20 replies. No complaints, but that's the way these things work, and are a semi closed clique to some degree.

I'm still learning lots about boating and the Thames.

I spent nearly a year renovating my Shetland family 4 which now resides at Windsor mdl after spending my first enjoyable year at Penton Hook.

I've learnt a lot since being a member here but I'm not the biggest poster.

I know I want a sealine S25 next though

Ref above...could not have summed it up better myself.
Quite a lot of us are not based on the Thames.sad
Many are based elsewhere on other canals and rivers or in the case of one or two..... manky old ditches.
It could useful to be told exactly what the rest of the boaty world really thinks of us lot here in the over privileged south east as well ?

Guilty m'lud as charged. I lurk and enjoy, and feel I get to know the characters and regulars. Trouble is I live in the South of France and keep my boat in Burgundy (though we have wintered in Holland this year). Grew up sailing on the Thames at Pangbourne and might return one day - could be soonish if you all vote for Brexit! I have no say - that 15 year rule. So meaningful contributions for a Thames group are difficult to find.

I'm mainly a lurker, but I am also a new boat owner on the Thames. Anything I want to post has to be moderated before it appears which makes it a bit less than timely to join in a conversation. I assume eventually I'll be trusted to post immediately?
