I am having real problems getting my luff tight on a new boat with new sails. We have to winch the halyard well beyond normal friction to get the luff flat. When we go to drop, the loads on the jammer are ridiculous. Any ideas ?

I thought of that but found it hard to believe as the sail is custom built for the boat but I will check with the sailmaker.Thanks.

Had similar problem on new X332. Main halyard was stretching. Luff appeared tight on hoisting then when sail trimmed became baggy. Since replacing the "new" halyard with spectra the sail has been great.

Only problem now is the cost. Perhaps as it is a new boat you could approach the agent/builder and ask for "fit for purpose" halyards.
Good luck!
