Can anyone recommend a product? I have the bigger style plastic zips, they're fine but want to keep them in tip top condition

Important thing is to make sure the metal closer is rinsed of salt water, or they can corrode and seize. The rest of the zip doesn't need anything, but if you do want to lubricate it, use something that dries like silicone spray, not grease, as you'll inevitably rub against it when getting on and off the boat.

Boat is in fresh water and are the chunkier plastic variety so i'm already on to a winner. I just want silky smooth sliding!

I'll go with the dry silicone spray and see how it goes

Candle wax along the teeth and Vaseline in the closer works for me all these years. Of course Mike is right, a good rince with clean fresh water after each trip is vital for long life zip fastenings.

Yeah I use candle wax on my dry-suit, was just checking if there was any other wonderful solution. Boat is based on fresh water which makes things a lot easier!
