Lowrance hsd7m maps dont work

I was gutted last night I bought the cmap europe maps put them on the sd card and the chartplotter doesn't recognise them.
When I downloaded it said they was compatible but don't seem to be .

Have you changed the chart source in the menu? This is from my HDS10 gen2 manual which doesn’t support C-map charts but later models may.

Looks like gen3 and later do support C-map.

Extensive mapping options HDS Gen3 includes built-in world background reference map, and is compatible with the most expansive selection of cartography on the market. Options include Insight Genesis, Navionics, C-MAP MAX-N+, Insight mapping toolkit partners and more.

Were these MAX-N charts? Lowrance HDS Gen 2 plotters are compatible with C-Map MAX-N and Gen 3 units with MAX-N+. They will not work with C-Map MAX or C-Map 4D.

Yes just the basis ones I have a feeling its the gen 1 chartplotter .
