Thanks chromy. You are probably right but I'm assuming there's no easy fix and I'll have to send it off to Navico. I was just curious if westerlylad managed to get it sorted out or he had to fork out for a new one. I just spent about $12k on the boat and I don't want to cough up another $2k plus to replace it...not this fishing season anyway!

Hi Fishbreath. I eventually raised the problem with the Navico UK service centre and they were very helpful. We first tried several attempts to download updated software to my original unit, however none of this was entirely successful and they eventually suggested that I could send my chartploter to them and they would attempt to repair it. Once they got it however, they reported that it was unrepairable and they offered me a replacement reconditioned unit at a substantially reduced price. This replacement has been installed and working away quite happily since then. So I would suggest you contact your local Navico service centre and see if they can help. Good luck with this, as I know how glad I was to get it sorted. How's the weather where you are at moment?
