I'm having real problems loading waypoints from the cursor position, since I bought a new Navionics chart to replace the one that came with the unit. When I press the WPT button, irrespective of where the cursor is, I get the "information" and not the "waypoint" screen. This happens even if I am careful to place the cursor away from any chart features, in a blank area of the chart I get something about "charted depth area". I also find I can't turn off the pop-up information boxes. Help!

Manual page 79 - Pop-up map information. Turn it off ?

Best if nothing is happening as should be - is to Factory Reset.

Have you installed the software updates for this plotter? I seem to recall there was one that dealt with this issue.

It's a bug. Zoom in or out 1 range before just doing the double waypoint press. Newer software may fix it don't know.
