My Lowrance 5150C has started playing up with the message that the GPS module isn't working. I take this to mean that this relates to the remote aerial. Since spares are no longer available I am wondering whether one of the active aerials like Evermore advertised on E Bay would carry out a similar function. I would be grateful for any advice. Mike
 
I have just had the same problem and after seeing your post was hoping for an answer. I got a GPS receiver BR-355 from ebay and a 12v to 5v convertor, also from ebay. It took about 30 mins. to fit and it works fine. Total cost was about £40.
