Off to Lowestoft this weekend... hoping ro get into RNSYC to avoid the lifting bridge... anyone know if 'll need to book a berth, or if RNSYC pre-book berths?
No need usually to book a berth but it will be very busy this weekend with East Coast Dragon Championship going on.
Call on CH 80 for berth or you could try booking by phone Office: (0)1502 566726
or alternatively just turn up, unlikely to be refused a berth they usually fit you in.
The lifitng bridge isn't that painful really - through the entrance, turn right into dock where there is a waiting pontoon. Have a snoze, cuppa etc and then pootle on up.
For reference, I have spoken to RNSYC, and they don't take bookings, so not a problem, although they did mention the Dragon event, and suggested they would be pretty busy....
I phoned RNSYC at 5 pm 26/5/05, enquiring re berth for saturday, fully booked, they have the Edinburgh Cup (Dragons) this weekend, looks like the Ore for me.
Interesting.... all though I didn't phone until 18h30, so did speak to the yacht club rather than the marina staff.....
Maybe I'll check in the morning with the Haven Marina..... my only other alternatives are the Ore or the Deben... unless I head south towards Ramsgate....
