A Lowestoft Taxi owner is getting cross about the number of times the bridge lifts to allow pleasure boats in and out of Lowestoft.

I think he is suffering from stress and wants to blame something?

15 lifts in day would never happen!
Pleaseure boat lifts:
07.00; 09.45; 11.15; 14.30; 16.00; 19.00; 21.00 Mon-Fri =7 per day
an extra one at 18.00 weekends and BH. there are some others overnight but are rarely used.

Commercials only enter around high water so he is suggesting 7 or 8 lifts within a few hours of high water.... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Moved from Lowestoft now but will never use Atlas Taxis if i go back

So according to his calculations the bridge is lowered 12 times a day to allow vehicles to cross it? That's appalling. It should be reduced significantly. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

IIRC there is a little known act of parliament that states any moveable bridge across a naviagable water MUST open on demand of a navigator....
Dont tell the miserable git in Lowestoft though....

And it should not be used as a weapon as some silly prat in the government will change the law so we cant go anywhere anytime....
