lazy weekend with saturday night stop at RVYC wootton creek - could have done with a slightly higher low water!

very welcoming and enjoyed our meal at the club and for those with children - good crabbing from the pontoon!

I thought the mud at Wooton was supposed to be more accommodating than that! Have thought of going in there several times, that's answered my questions.

Went in there a couple of years ago - dried at horrendous angle - havn't been back since.

It seems that deep channels appear in the mud - one keel in and one keel out and over you go.

However, if you look at low water you can find the best place to park !

I was in there a few years ago, glad to hear it's as nice as ever. We dried out further up the pontoon, where there are some big holes dug by previous boats. We sat at a funny angle but were OK otherwise. Mates in a Centaur dried out alongside us dead upright on flat mud.

fin draught 1.7m - I paddled out in the dinghy and the keel was buried almost to it's root but could see the hull /p bracket /propshaft and top of rudder - we had been in before and been fine so our conclusion is that this lw was not quite as deep as others and next time will want a bigger (deeper) neap lw - we were joined on saturday night by a very smart southerley 110 with 2 families on board who dried out beautifully level and left sunday am whilst we were still aground - damm clever those lifting keel boats !
