The 7th of December is shaping up for a particularly low tide
With a predicted negative surge coinciding with low water at Walton.

This should make it a good time to do a 'welly boot survey' of the Deben entrance

It's been interesting this week in Mersea, with HW predictions yesterday and Monday of 5.8 and 5.9, giving a "you'll just get across the Strood (ht of tide 4.9) of HW +1hr 45... On Monday I got across easily at HW +1 with it not appearing to have been across the road at all. The high pressure was 1031/1033 giving a reduction of .18 and .2... was nothing like enough to account for it.

I spoke too soon.
I now see the continuation of the surge prediction and see that it's the following positive surge that's important.
This is shaping up for a 5.0m tide at Walton - enough to cause some local flooding.

Pin Mill at 08.30 this morning....... Who pulled the plug out?

I took the Thames Clipper from London Bridge to Greenwich this morning and the skipper was bring very careful near Tower Pier as the water level was so low
