Low friction rings for foresail sheets - any tips?

I've been using this system for two seasons following Graham Snooks article. I only set the genoa sheet angle through easing not through tightening but that's not a problem in practice since the resting position is fully tightened to prevent flogging. I have occasionally forgotten to take all slack out and the ring can then flog against a window. Some plastic hose fits the circumference of the rings and stops any destructiveness. I still have the sheets passing first through the original Genoa car so that's a back-up should anything fail.

Poey 50: Interesting sketch/drawing at the end of the article - I'm sure I've seen something similar before. Crediting original work seems to have gone out of fashion. With the slow demise of printed media this will not matter as there will eventually be no original work - and then we will need to think, design and draw for our selves.
