Out warming up the engine this afternoon and a single engined sea plane flew down the river, it was very low, I suspect below CAA minimum of 500ft

Wonder what he was upto.

No chance of landing in the summer and I would have thought even in winter far too many mooring bouys round.

When I was a wee lad planes that had lost their way back to Bentwaters or Woodbridge would follow the river to the sea and then follow the coast. One hit the high voltage lines over the river and nearly crashed into the hogging. The cable missed me by just a few feet as I was cycling along The Strand but it hit a poor blackbird, the only known casualty.

Creeksailor is correct I have been 'buzzed' a couple of times when in the vicinity of the Stumble. A white, small twin engined jobby as I recall. Certainly in the region of 20 - 50 feet off the deck and very quick, nearly took my VHF aerial off!!

Yush, did I ever tell you about the time I was in the China sea.................. Arctic Convoy......................, South Atlantic...................................., Western approaches....................................

I was in Jeddah a few lifetimes ago, in a building a few stories high when I heard quite a row outside. I looked out and observed a small twin engine 'plane flying along the street. It was beneath the level I was standing at. He used to fly along the roads spraying disinfectant. Quite spectacular especially the last time he done it apparently but I never saw that. I was told the gory details later.
