Just about to pop up to Allington Lock for the weekend, when an email popped up from the EA.
Due to low flows,Allington only locking in and out at HW and locks further up being manned by EA staff with restricted passage times .
Took bit of working out, needed to go up as normal to get under Aylesford Bridge about 2 hours before high water , then creep up to lock
Anchored in the river just outside lock along with 4 other boats ,who did not know about the restrictions.
One chap asked what was the latest he could get back out as had only come up for the day, he was politely told , he would need to exit the lock and then immediately re enter.
Helped another boater come back out.
Exited at HW as requested then moored outside lock.
Waited the usual hour forthe ebb to lower river level enough to get under Aylesford bridge.
L,Escapade is now moored at Allington for few days, weird not hearing water whoosing over the weir at night.
River is fairly busy, lots of small speedboats moored outside the Malta Inn.
