You do need to very careful of the mud in some places but I have managed to walk from Eel pie 9top end all the way down to Hammertons.

You an find some amazing stuff in old bottles.

The scouts at Petersham cross right across the river, from Petersham Meadows to Marble Hill Park, usually making some interesting discoveries en route too.
